We have survived 2 of 3 flights so far! The 2nd flight was a bit rockier than the first, but it was smooth sailing to find our gates at both Minneapolis & JFK! W even got to walk outside at JFK to get to the shuttle bus to the next terminal so we decided that now we can all say we've been to NYC! Everyone has been great! Here are some initial thoughts from each of them.
I asked them each to write about the following: what are you most excited about & what are your goals while there?
Bryton
I'm really excited about seeing all the cool things in France and meeting my French Family. One of my goals is to see the schools and try to learn about the school system that France has.
McKayla. I'm really excited to eat escargot and see the Eiffel Tower. My goals for this trip is to actually understand what my French sister says.
Alyssa
I'm very excited to see how different the culture is compared to America. I can't wait to use all of my senses to experience a new place. One of my goals is to be able to speak French with ease (or just a little better) and to try as many new and different things as possible.
Mel
I am most excited to be surrounded in French culture. Everything from the food to the language is going to be an amazing experience. My goals are to take beautiful photos and enjoy every opportunity I can get.
Hannah
I am most excited about being completely immersed in the French culture and language! From the streets to the art to the food, I am beyond excited for what is to come. My goal is to not expect anything, and enjoy everything for what it is! I want to be so engrossed in the culture that leaving is almost impossible.
Rhya
I am extremely excited to actually meet my new French family, I am very familiar with being the host, but I am excited to be on the other side. I look forward to meeting up with my uncle in Paris, as well as trying Newkirk foods and seeing new sights. I'm also excited to take pictures of the beautiful scenery and buildings. My overall goal is to try as much as possible so I can gain as much as I can from this trip, but it is important to learn new culture and have fun.
Madame
I'm most excited to be in France again, share the culture with these students. Thank you to their families for allowing them to be with me on this adventure! I also can't wait to have the bread!! My hope is to continue to improve my own French as well as hopefully catch up with some friends in Paris for coffee. And to check out some really neat places I haven't been before in the south!
